The digitization of Philippine local laws and ordinances project aims to bridge the knowledge gap among citizens regarding the laws and ordinances being passed, imposed, or implemented in their respective towns. This documentation highlights the accomplishments of the project’s first phase, focusing on towns in Pangasinan (Urbiztondo, Malasiqui, Lingayen, Dagupan City, Alaminos City, Bani, Balungao, Asingan, Bolinao, Bayambang, Basista, Sto. Tomas, Labrador, Umingan, Agno and Mangaldan) and La Union (Bauang, Santol, San Fernando, Aringay, Agoo, Caba, Bacnotan, Naguilian, Balaoan, Pugo, San Juan, San Gabriel and Burgos), and outlines the strategies employed, challenges faced, and future prospects.

The digitization of Philippine local laws and ordinances project’s first phase in Pangasinan and La Union has made significant strides towards bridging the knowledge gap among citizens. We were able to upload more than 500 local laws and ordinances from 30+ towns and are still counting. Through careful digitization and uploading processes, in collaboration with LGUs, the project has ensured the preservation, accessibility, and transparency of local laws and ordinances. The media launch and future prospects demonstrate the project’s commitment to expanding its impact and fostering an informed citizenry in the Philippines. By leveraging partnerships, technology, and community engagement, the project aims to serve as a catalyst for greater transparency, citizen participation, and good governance at the local level.
